Love a Vintage Mill Werks design but need a different size, finish, or detail? Yes, we customize.

We build our furniture by hand from 100% solid wood. Nothing is mass-produced, and more than half of our orders include some degree of customization. Start with a VMW design and tell us what would make it work better for your home.

What can we customize?

Customization means a change to what is currently listed or advertised on our website. Options include:

Size & proportions

Changes to width, length, depth, or height to suit your room and the way you use the piece.

Storage & layout

Modifications to drawers, doors, shelves, and seating arrangements.

Tops & overhangs

Extended overhangs and changes to the top. Let us know if you plan to supply your own countertop.

Crown & adjoining pieces

Flush modifications to crown and trim, including requests for pieces that sit beside one another.

Paint, stain & unfinished wood

Custom paint or stain requests, or a piece supplied as raw, untreated wood with no finish applied.

Hardware

Custom hardware requests, including installation of hardware you supply.

Interested in premium Oak construction? Ask for an email quote. Oak has its own stain options.

Our team will review the requested changes for your selected design and confirm the details with you before ordering.

Customization starts with a VMW design

We modify our own furniture designs. We do not reproduce other companies’ furniture or build unrelated designs found online. Reference photos are welcome to help explain your space, finish preferences, or specific changes to a VMW piece.

If the size or finish you want is already offered on the product page, you can select it there. For changes beyond those options, email us before ordering.

Need a larger piece?

We regularly ship pieces over 100 inches coast to coast. Include your requested dimensions and delivery ZIP code so we can review the design and shipping arrangements with you.

Start with an email. We will help with the rest.

  1. Share the piece and your requested changes. Include the VMW product name or link, desired finished dimensions, finish preferences, and delivery ZIP code. Mark anything still undecided “to be confirmed.”
  2. Work through the details with Customer Service. We will review the design, answer questions, and confirm specifications, pricing, shipping, and timing with you.
  3. Review your order and stay connected. Once the details are confirmed and you are ready to order, our team will provide your private payment link and continue assisting you by email.

All communication about your custom order is handled by email. Our shared address, info@vintagemillwerks.com, is your point of contact from custom design discussions and order confirmation through your shipping notification.
